An entrepreneur’s best friend
by JKing on Sep.29, 2008, under Entrepreneur Lifestyle
An entrepreneur’s best friend is a journal or notepad, where he can write down his business ideas, catchy ads, and other, business related information.
Who creates the best notebooks?
Moleskine. Although the name was registered only in 1996 the history of the brand goes back to the 19th century. According to the company’s ads, lots of writers and artists (like Henri Matisse, Bruce Chatwin, Picasso, Hemingway etc.) have used Moleskine notebooks throughout the last two centuries. The reason for the popularity of the Moleskine brand is simple: the quality of Moleskine notebooks is great.
Moleskine notebooks are bound in oilcloth-covered cardboard, and these notebooks have other special features too, like: rounded corners, elastic band to hold the notebook closed, an expandable pocket inside the rear cover (it contains a sheet of paper about the brief history is Moleskine notebooks) etc.
Personally I think each Moleskine notebook is a piece of art. It’s like the Rolls Royce of notebooks.
Various uses of Moleskine notebooks
Lots of creative people, designers, artists use these notebooks, and there are a lot of sites about sketches in Moleskine notebooks. Some of my personal favorites.

Some people “hack” these notebooks, and cut them in half, some other people add extra features to them, the list is long. You can find a couple of these hack on this page.
Which Moleskine notebook do I use?
I use a 192 pages long, Pocket Plain Notebook, just like the one you can see on the left. I’ve got two of them currently (one of them was never opened, it’s brand new, and it looks like the one on the left). I use thise notebook to write down my business related thoughts.
Where can you buy them?
Well, you can buy them from Amazon, eBay, etc. The prices vary, the 192 pages long Pocket Plain Notebook costs around $10.
